HAND TO HAND: THE ART OF COMMUNITY

Betty Carpick looks at social, cultural, and environmental issues in both serious and playful ways by creating art that exists in the space between process and performance as well as the missing portions between the real and the imagined. Conceptualizing and guiding intergenerational community-invigorated art in reciprocal and relational ways runs parallel to her arts practice. By inviting many forms of interaction and dialogue; the spirit of play, discovery, and collective responsibilities for each other and our planet are amplified.

Concurrent with the Hand to Hand exhibit, Betty will launch a new community textile arts project: Peace Work.
